How to Become a Certified Nursing Assistant in Kentucky

Would you like to begin a career in Kentucky that allows you to help others and does not require years of training? If so, you should consider becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). CNAs are in high demand all over the U.S., and you can train as one in just a few weeks. Furthermore, as a CNA in Kentucky, you can expect an average yearly salary of about $23,000.

In Kentucky, CNAs are known as State-Registered Nursing Aides (SRNA). For you to become a SRNA, you will need to complete a CNA program that is approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Additionally, your training should consist of at least 75 hours of classroom lectures and clinical exercises. Upon completion of your training, you can sit for the state's CNA Certification Exam.

This is a two-part test: a multiple choice section and a practical skills portion. You must pass this test to become certified and gain a place on the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry.
