One of the best ways to make your CNA resume more attractive is to obtain membership in a respected nursing assistant organization. There are many such organizations available today, and they are on both the local and national levels. But just what is the NNCNA, and what do they do? The main goals of the NNCNA are to promote the education of aspiring nursing assistants and to raise public awareness of their importance in medical facilities all across the country. They accomplish this through a variety of special programs and activities, some of which are described briefly in the following sections.
The Annual National Nursing Assistants Week
Each year during mid-June, the National Network of Career Nursing Assistants promotes the celebration of National Nursing Assistants Week. This special week is dedicated to showing appreciation for the valuable contributions of CNAs all over the country. Highlights of Nursing Assistants Week include educational seminars, recognition events and special news releases.
The NNCNA Online Web Store
The NNCNA also maintains a unique online web store that offers a large selection of CNA-related merchandise. If you are looking for an item for yourself or something for the CNA in your life, this is the place to shop! The site accepts PayPal payments as well as checks, money orders, debit cards and major credit cards. Just a sample of the great merchandise you will find here includes the following items.

The NNCNA Honor Society
Each year, the National Network of Career Nursing Assistants honors those CNAs who have accumulated 20 or more years of service by adding them to the NNCNA Honor Society. Also known as the Twenty Year Club, the NNCNA Honor Society awards this special recognition through either the CNAs' requests or that of their employers. Employers can also request an organized award ceremony to honor several employees on the same day.
Conference Sessions and Workshops
Finally, some of the best ways that the NNCNA promotes education for CNAs is by helping employers organize and conduct educational conference sessions and workshops. While the topics for these training sessions may vary from year to year depending on such things as new medical advances and technology, some common conference sessions and workshops can be found listed below.
