Henry Ford Community College was established in 1938 as Fordson Junior College. The name was changed to Dearborn Junior College in 1946 before it received its current name in 1958. 4. Wayne County Community College District
Founded in Downtown Detroit in 1967, Wayne County Community College District maintains six campuses in the Detroit area today. Also known as WC3, Wayne County Community College District provides training in a variety of disciplines including health science careers. The college system's nursing assistant program is a 10-credit certificate program designed to prepare students for careers as CNAs, orderlies or healthcare attendants.
5. Monroe County Community College
Yet another fine school you may want to consider for your CNA training is Monroe County Community College. This facility dates back to 1964 and can be found on Raisinville Road in Monroe just minutes from Downtown Detroit. Within MCCC's health sciences division, you will find a terrific certified nurse aide program. This is a 132-hour program that consists of a combination of classroom and clinical instruction.
